Incredible work!
The outside longitudinal planking ads great strength to the hull.
I can't tell, but are the frames solid or laminated with multiple layers? I heard the Higgins started with solid but may have later switched to laminated frames.
Cheers,
Andy

I just took a look at a PT658 photo and noticed that the upper outer planing on the hull is also longitudinal instead of diagonal, were the earlier Higgins built with a diagonal outer planking?

Randy;
The only thing that would be better would be to see PT 308 being restored right next to PT 305. Bravo Zulu to you and yur team! That 2015 date is right around the corner and you guys look like you will be ready, good luck!
Take care,
TED

Boy I got to say....I worked on the 305 boat nearly 2 years getting it ready to go to the group in Texas before she came to you all in New Orleans. We had grandiose ideas of driving her down the inter coastal waterway a few test runs were done but the decision to drive her down on a truck was best. She just looks fantastic and nothing less than a stellar job is being done on her. You have the volunteers and financial support of one of the greatest museums dedicated to WWII.
Through my efforts I have been given a life long charter membership of the museum. It was a pleasure and an honor to save this boat. She was headed into harms way the Texas group had not taken her over.
God Bless you all God Bless the 305 boat. Beautiful work!!!!

Jim,
Do you have any photos of when you worked on her? Could you tell us exactly what kinds of things you did while working on her? Perhaps a brief history of what you did. Thanks for everything that you did to save her. When do you think you might come to New Orleans?
