Thanks Dick for all of the work you do on the boards, it is greatly appreciated by all of us. Never an easy task when you have to deal with Hackers. Good luck in the fix, and thanks again.

Well . . . . its been a while, to say the least, but I should have the message board repaired and recovered. At least to a major extent. I was able to recover over 24,000 lost archive posts. They should now be searchable and accessible.
The next procedure is to delete yet another 23,000 registered member, which are actually spammer trying to get in. Of the posted 24,142 registered members there is actually only 612 actual real members. Warning the deletion process may accidentally delete some an actual members, I hope few if any, but it could cause you to rejoin if you lose access. Let me know if this happens to you.

Well I have two accounts on account of forgetting the password to my first then salvaging it from the remains of my old email account.
I really do appreciate the hard work fro yourself and the input from our real members.
Glad it's back on an even keel

Dick, as a new person to the board (2years). I remember vividly the early days of my search for the history of my father in-laws time on the 156. If it were not for this board and being able to read for hours and hours past posts on all subject matters, I would not have even known what questions to ask or look for.
The information I got from old conversations was extremely important in finding the pieces to the puzzle for our family. Saving all this information is a gift of unknown value to unknown people. You may never know how much you have done for history.
You are a Hero! Thank you doesn't seem like enough.
To all the members who have expertise in WWII PT Boat subjects and are willing to share your knowledge with new comers to the board, I appreciate you all as well.
Veterans of PT boats, your memories may seem like your own personal stories to you, that you don't want to brag or bore, that is so NOT true. I could never get enough of hearing the stories. If it were not for Earl and CJ, who helped me personally. The book I put together of my father in-laws story would not have been half as interesting and personal. They made our fathers story come alive.
Thank you all so much.
Julie
