Account of their loss at Hamburg bay, Emirau Island
18 JUN 1944 and other history of the 107.

http://www.pacificwrecks.com/ships/ptboat/PT-107.html

The 107 was an 80-ft Elco and the 63 was an
Elco 77-footer....both with RON5.

My father, Leland (Gus) Gosnell was the original
Gunner's Mate on the 107 and John (Sully)
Sullivan was also an original crew member when
the RON5 boats were transported on a freighter
to the Panama Canal Zone. Neither my dad nor
Sully were on the 107 when this accident occurred.
According to Sully's son, Sully was on leave and
dad had been transferred to Melville as a GMC
instructor.

For wooden boats and iron men,

Bob Gosnell

2nd generation PT107
