Last week my son Randy and I took the Oklahoma Honor flight trip to Washington D.C. There were 83 WW 2 vets on the trip. Many were in wheel chairs. Each vet must have a guardian companion. Randy was my guardian. I was the only P.T. Boater in the group. The trip was very well organized and was the 15th trip from Oklahoma. Each veteran was introduced and honored at a reception the night before the flight. The flight left Oklahoma City at 7:00 am and returned back to OKC at 9:30 pm. ( A long day starting at 3:00 am). We toured the WW 2 Memorial, the Korean Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Changing of the Guard. The bus gave us a grand tour of the many sights and other Memorials of Washington. I had never been to Washington so it was thrilling for me. On our return at the Airport in OKC we were received by a crowd if about 200 people honoring us Veterans. I would highly recommend any WW 2 veteran to take one of the Honor Flights from their home state. It gives us the feeling that there are still people who care about our service in WW 2. The barriers were down at the WW 2 memorial the day we were there. I can assure you that had there been barriers the Oklahoma group would have torn them down.

Ahoy there CJ.

Indeed there are many who still honour the services that the veterans of many wars made so that we can enjoy the life we do.

Thank you Sir for your service.

Cheers from Peter
