The raised object along the bridge is a heater duct as found on PTs 486-509 (best guess from fuzzy drawing numbers), once again Dick's drawing DVD to the rescue! Probably only installed on cold weather boats, I don't see it on boats in that range obviously in the Pacific:

Nice find Jeff. I wonder why we only see it on some boats in the Atlantic? Another Elco mystery. Thanks for finding that!

Very useful drawings Jeff ! They confirm the position of the torp cradles of the Channel boats . Also I hadn't noticed the small square plate on the antenna housing before (these are also to be seen in some pics of the Channel boats).For modellers of the Channel boats the navsource pics of PT-494 and 491 are also helpful.

Glad you found it useful Arjan! In case anyone wants to add it to their model, according to another drawing for PTs 486-545 and 731-760 the handhole cover was 7" width x 6" height with corner radii of 1/2".

In this picture of the PT-486 and PT-487, look closely and you can see the heater duct.
