Very impressive Stu! There's even tiny binoculars sitting on the bridge: http://www.pt103.com/Italeri_PT109_Build_Stuart_Hurley_3.html.

Here's one of the shots, the work he did adding the slight S curve to the sheer really makes a difference compared to photos of the stock flat aircraft carrier deck:

Well done Stu, thank you for sharing your work including pointing out details of construction and changes on the real boats. Your photo squinting skills are excellent!

Stu, that is just magnificent! The weathering is very well thought out and I love the details you added such as ropes, helmets, and such. Absolutely love it!

Stu, you did a wonderful job on this boat. I enjoyed watching her progress, simply beautiful. No many attempt the weathering of the boats, and yours is awesome. I am going to find where you live, and come and pick it up for my Exhibit. Just be sure your not home at the time, I'm too old to fight.

Thanks,
It means a lot to me that you guys like my work.
After all, a few months ago I didn't really know one end of a PT boat from the other. I have really enjoyed building this model and it is thanks to many on this board that it has been a success.
Now to decide which boat to build next, you lot have got me hooked

Best Regards,
Stu.

Makes me want to shrink myself and climb aboard. I have a better idea. Why dont you 'super size' that model and we can all come aboard. Great build Stewart. Excellent detail.

She's beautiful Stu. Is there any way you can find a location to get some eye level shots of her in the water? Also, is your weathering done with chalks, washes or a really fine tip airbrush? It is among the best I have ever seen and I love the color you chose for the boat.

Thanks everyone, it means a lot.

Roy,
The weathering is Humbrol Enamels. It starts off really stark like Luftwaffe mottling , then gradually it gets toned down with the main colour. There is some hand painting but the majority is airbrushed. Some staining and streaking has been done with burnt umber oil paint. Highlighting is airbrushed followed by dry brushing with light gray and white.

Best Regards,
Stu.
