Just curious here, I have seen Navy Jumper Uniforms, with the Amphibious Forces Patch on the shoulder. Were any PT Boat Ron's associated with these units, and if so, would they have worn this type patch on their uniforms, Blues or Whites, with their PT Insignia.

In my opinion No. MTBRONS was a unit that was "attached" for temporary duty to an amphibious situation, as a "support" unit.
Only permanent units were authorized to wear this insignia. For example: my Dad was authorized to wear this as he was an Officer assigned to Beachmaster and Harbor Control Units at Normandy and Beachmaster in the Pacific. On another note, Underwater Demolition Teams were authorized to wear this, but I have yet to see a photo of one guy actually wearing it.

Ted that makes perfect sense to me, although never say never, which is why I wanted to double check. I always thought it was a bit odd that I have a WWII Sweetheart Pillow, from Amphibious Training Base that has a PT BOAT on the cover. Rare Pillow I am sure, I have only seen one of these last 20 years, and I purchased it. Curious why they choose one of the boats to represent the Base.

when i wqas in cook and baKERS SERVICE ASCHOOL I WAS APPROACHED BY AN OFFICER LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR PT OR SUB SERVICE.HE MENTIONED THAT PTS WERE PART OF THE "AAMPHIBIUS "SERVICES,. I DECLINED BUT WAS LATER DRafted into pts in munea new ca,leedinia where i served in several different rons bases and finally on rthe 108 boat.
i guess tjhe terminolofy amphibious was widely used to include diffgerent servuces.
