Bob, I am so shocked at how quickly things are moving. She sure looks awesome. I can't wait to get this in my exhibit, and for Arthur Frongello to see her when completed, GREAT JOB MY FRIEND...............

Looks awesome Bob. You should send some photos to Italeri. No, never mind that idea. They might decide to release the Higgins kit before the 77 foot Elco. Are you keeping track of the time you are putting into the kit?

Hi Roy. I'm not keeping time, it's going really smooth(knock on wood) The way it's always gone for me is the day before I finish a project like this some model company comes out with one. At least I know what to look for in mistakes now.

Ahoy there Bob.
Now that you know what to look for in mistakes you can also act as an advisor to Italeri when they get going on their version.
Yours is looking so good that I'm really tempted to get the plans too and see if something similar but with tube-launched fisf could be used with a 1/32 scale Lindberg hull.
Cheers from Peter

Thanks all! Peter if you want to do a Higgins may I suggest the 1/30 Dumas Kit. I havn't seen one except on the net but for $125-$150 on Ebay that is a great price. Parts are already cut, you get plans and it's just putting together. What I did is the very expensive way. I had to buy plans, get them resized, a ban saw to cut the bulkheads That stuff is for keepers but on top of that lots of materials , building supplies and if you can't scroung the parts an Italeri PT 596 will have to be sacerficed. You can see with this photo the Higgins has a much deeper hull than the Elco. and a different shape.
