For any modle builders out there. Revell issued a 1/72 Vosper a few years back and made some errors. The bottom of the stern on the Vospers were flat butl the Revell vosper's hull was shaped like the Elco's. I'm using one for a 77 ' Elco build. From the photos Al linked to, the Revell hull looks perfect for a conversion to one of these boats.

These are the lines and sections for the 77' ELCO. There's no correlation between them and the Revell Vosper hull.

I really don't know what to say Al. Your intilted to your opnion and I mine. This is the Revell Vosper hull modified with drawings I got off the internet to make a 77' Elco. It scales out and It's aways from being finished , I do have corrections to make. The hull isn't exactly right for each section but close enough for most. A very striking model can be made. All I'm saving is if someone wants to modify the hull you have a great starting place. The 1/72 Revell Vosper has a lot of errors and is very inaccurate. If you put it up to your plans you would be upset as well. Not a very good reprehensive of a true Vosper at all,. But one of the main errors really works for the modeler.

Hi Al,
I'm gonna have to save my pennies for that book! His detail is obvious. If I follow the excerpts correctly then, the PV70 original boat tested by the RN was not the boat Elco bought in 1939, but a second newly built boat. This is contrary to everything I've ever read about PT-9. Then in 1940, Canadian Power Boat was set up, and the original PV70 prototype was sent over in June 1940, becoming CMTB-1. He mentions that the shipment of that boat was a lot of trouble, compared to the Elco boat shipped last year (1939) which went smoothly. Given your high regard for this book, I'll have to hunt one down. BTW, that website you linked to has several PT-369 photos, with good shots of the pilot house. They are in a strange format though. Will have to convert to JPEG.

Hi Al,
I found a good second hand copy at a reasonable price after rooting around the web for a bit. Should have it soon.
Thanks again,
Mike
