That was awesome Ted. God bless all the WWII Hero's past and all those that we are so blessed to have still with us and be witness to their fantastic first-hand stories of actions they saw and participated in. I am so humbled and honored when a Vet, especially a WWII Vet takes the time to share a story or two with me and allows me the liberty to be part of a conversation of an event that might have taken 70 or so years past. I can only say Thank You from the bottom of my heart.

Ahoy there.

I was recently thinking just what an archival treasure this forum will be when in the future, years from now, someone is researching the boats and/or the men who crewed them. The stories the veterans of those boats share with us are remarkable and are a historians dream come true - original, primary first hand accounts, Without the veterans this forum would be infinitely poorer. In many ways this board is akin to one of the PT boats. We have our leader Dick who keeps the board available for us. We have the newbies who want to learn about the boats and/or the men who crewed them, and we have the veterans who steer us away from rookie mistakes.

As long as there are real PT boats and or accurate models of them running on the ponds and lakes interest in the Wooden Boats and the Iron Men who crewed them will never end.

A hearty thankyou to ALL of you who keep this forum afloat and the information accurate as we continue to sail ever further into the Mists of History.

Cheers from Peter

Very well said TED. For me the WWII PT BOAT VETERANS hold a special place in my heart. I have been associated with so many of them for the past 30 years or so, meeting many in that time frame, that became special friends. Every PT BOAT VET that I ever met opened up their homes, and treated me like family. I am blessed to have known each and every one, and my promise to them is that I will do my very best to continue to keep the PT BOATS in the public eye. Thank you for what you did, so that I could be here today...............

Well Said everyone. If I'd been born at the right time and in the right place and had a choice I would have wanted to serve on a PT Boat. That is something you can really be proud of. I want to thank all the vet's who served and I wish I could build all of you modles of your boats. Thank You!

Ted, Frank and all others on the message board, Thanks for your kind comments for us old PT Vets. Earl's comments to you are also my feelings entirely. He said it well, you guys are special. I certainly enjoy checking and reading the message board to see what is going on in todays PT world. I add my 2 cents sometimes when I think it is applicable but I sure don't wont to be a bore.

I just have to add my appreciation too.
Maybe being a girl I can admit that you veterans bring tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat. I am surprised at my own emotions because I am not that way. At lunch not long ago I was embarrassed telling my two sisters about what I am learning in the process of trying to put my father in-laws PT story together, I got all choked up and couldn't finish the sentence. Geez, it just came out of nowhere. They of course don't get it. But I hope that you guy's do, your in my heart.
I have been communicating with C.J, Earl and Jack and they have been so kind to help me and answer questions when ever I ask.
You all on the board have been very helpful too. This is the best place.
To C.J. - You are Never a Bore !!!
I feel like the greedy one asking so many questions of you and I hold myself back in fear that I am becoming a pest. I think that I can speak for the others that you and your stories are something we can not get enough of. .Love, Love, Love the stories, keep them coming.
Earl, you are priceless too,
Thanks Ted for giving us the opportunity to thank these guy's.
Julie
