My wife and I were out Sat. enjoying a day of boating on the San Joaquin Delta. Returning to the harbor via an alternate route I happened upon PTF26 anchored on a secondary slough midway between the old Lost Isles and Tiki Lagoon. She was in dark shades of camo, and had a camo net over the stern 20MM. She has an unusual flag on the bow jack staff, alternate red and white stripes on a 45 degree angle, no other ensigns were visible.

Frank, I did take a couple with my phone but I failed in an attempt to post some pic;s of my 5' Higgins previously. I could forward them to someone who has the ability to post.

Here are the pictures I took the other day of PTF26, I have also added a couple of drawings of the Higgins Hellcat I am currently researching for a 1/16 scratch build project. Currently I have a 1/16 78' Higgins running very well in electric powered RC.

Thanks for the help Dick. Now that I see the pictures a little bigger I was mistaken on the layout of the bow ensign, the stripes are horizontal, not on an angle like I first thought.

Also I misspoke regarding the rear gun, it is indeed a 40MM, I remember seeing the boat once prior in Sacramento and it was a single barrel Bofors.

Hi Larry,

Looks like a "Don't Tread On Me" flag on the bow. Can make out the uncoiled yellow Rattlesnake in the center of the flag.The boat appears to be a Sewart Seacraft Osprey class of PTF, Aluminum construction built in the early 60's.

Three Osprey Class photos were taken in Subic Bay in September 1969.

Wayne;
This boat was also one of the boats used in the movie "MacArthur ". and our very own Jack Duncan was on this boat while it was attached to COSRIVRON 1, he was Assistant-Officer-in-Charge of the PTF-21 and later the PTF-26, 1972-74 time frame.
Take care,
TED

Hi Ted,

Didn't know the true ID's of the PTF's used in the film,"MacArthur". But do recall the evacuation scene at the Corregidor docks with two Ospreys featured as PT's 34 and 41.
