Hi all,

I am new to this site. I recently received my grandfather's Navy records and learned that he was in MTB Ron 35. He spoke of being on a PT in Europe, but couldn't remember the squadron or ship # - all he could remember was 3. I found the crew picture on Ken Campbell's website, and the closest look alike (to his WW2 Navy photo) was on PT 511, left front. I am not 100% sure about this though. His name was Richard Pink Collins (his nickname was 'Pinky' on the USS Atlanta). Is there anyone on this message board that was a member of this squadron, PT 511, or knew him? Any info or pics would be greatly appreciated! I am in the process of researching his military career (USS New Mexico, USS Atlanta, Ron35), and can use all the help I can get.

Thanks,

William M. Freeman
