We have beaten to death the subject matter of colors for PT-109, but what about Kennedy's second boat. I have heard she was both green and like PT-61 was gray. In November of 1943, I wonder if she was gray, or had been repainted green. Anyone want to throw the first shot................

Al Ross's, PT-59 gunboat configuration drawing lists color scheme as Overall Dark Green. Probably Navy Green (5-NG).

Wayne

Thanks so much, this helps me out tremendously. We are getting much closer to PT-61 project that Stan will be doing. Looking forward to this build very much.

Frank, Excellent news that PT-61 project is coming up soon. Hope Stans build is well documented. Ken Prescotts color scheme paint recipe for PT-61 was 4 parts Light Grey and 1 part Navy Blue.

Wayne, thanks, I will pass this along to Stan. The color photos of PT-61 are great references for the build. I think you said to blow up plans 133%, is this right? I think this should be a really nice build, so any information, photo's, anything would be a big plus for Stan.

Hi Frank,

PT-61 plans are 1/24th scale same size as the Fiberglass 77'er hull, deck and cabins for your project .

In the early 1980's, I found that Al Ross's 1/32nd scale PT Boat plans were the best game in town for scratch builders and I'd enlarge Al's 1/32nd scale drawings 133% to get the 1/24th scale I like to build at.
