Back in 1979, I spent three weeks in Memphis and took these shots of PT 619. Thought you guys might like to see what she looked like then. Thanks to Bill Smallshaw for the scans.

Here are a couple images:

There are 18 total and they can be seen at:

I have a similar set for PT 617 which I'll put up shortly.

Al;
She sure looks pretty rough, makes me wonder how she even made it back in one piece! How long did the South Koreans have her as a derelict? 20 years?
Today, she could have been restored with the proper amount of $$.
I keep reading "rumours" that one of the other boats(maybe just a portion of the boat, yes I have seen the photos of the rocket launchers, I do not mean this.), 616 or 620 is in a museum, do you have any evidence of this?
Take care,
TED

Does any one have access to an operational history of this boat while in service with the ROK Navy? I was told that it had been damaged in an action with North Korean forces and would like to validate that information.

Great Photo's Al, thanks so much for providing them. I remember seeing her years back when they started her restoration. A great job they did.

Frank;
These are photos of PT 619, the one returned from the South Korean Navy. She was eventually broken up. Her sister PT 617 is in Fall River.

Al;
Looking a?t your photographs of PT 617 and PT 619, it appears that PT 619 was in slightly better shape, and more complete, why did the choose 617 over 619,since 617 was on the east coast, having been found in the Bahamas, and 619 was in Memphis, was it purely just location and logistics?
Take care,
