Fyfe's was in Greenport, right? What end of L.I. is that? The R.I side or the NY side?

Garth;
Not Greenport, thats too far out on the Island,
Glenwood Landing LI NY, is in Nassau County.

Today it is known as :Quality Marine Svce Inc, 165 Shore Rd, Glenwood Landing, NY
On google earth, it is up Hempstead Harbor, on North Shore. Near Glen Head, Glen Cove and Oyster Bay. By the way, this area is also where future PT Boat Skippers Henry Stillman Taylor, Alfred G. Vanderbilt ll, and George W. Vanderbilt lll. grew up and learned to sail, so it was not a coincidence, that Fyfe's Boatyard, was selected. They were well established in reputation with the LINY and NYCYC yachting set.
Take care,
TED

So, ... it's closer to the NYC side than the CT/RI side? And, is it on the LIS side, or the ocean side? Thank you Ted.

Maybe I'll ask my cousin on LI to do my footwork for me.

Again, thank you.

Russian Internet sources mention Fyfe's shipyard to be manufacturer of several Vosper design boats for SU fleet. At http://www.navsource.org this numbers are mentioned to be built by Annapolis yacht yard. I can't understand who is right.
