See the preview of the 2013 Italeri catalog on cybermodeler.com website. Looks like we will get the conversion parts and full torpedoes that everyone has mentioned, but will have to wait for a new crew set. Glad to see the Royal Navy Vosper MTB crew as well.

Ah man, you beat me to it. I've been conspiring with Italeri on an upgrade set for a while now. I was asked to keep it under wraps until the Nuremberg Toy Fair in February but they released it in their catalog early.

This set is still in design so it will be a while before it is released and the complete scope of the set is realized. I can tell you it's too late for additional pieces. For example I suggested the mortar and cradle but it was too late for that. It looks like they are going to have both types of SO radar masts and domes which was a nice touch on their part. The idea of this set is so that you can either upgrade the 109 kit or backdate a 596 kit. Excellent idea! Don't get concerned about the base for the 20mm. That's meant to demonstrate the shield for the 20mm mount. It looks like we're also going to get those crazy day cabin brackets in photoetch as well. I think this will be a great addition to these wonderful kits.

Torpedoes! Hopefully, four of each. And a life raft.

Now for a SCR-517A ''beehive'' and struts.

My thanks also, Dave.

That's GREAT news!!! Good work, David. Can't wait to get my grubby little mitts on that set. Maybe an a/m company like White Ensign will step up and do a few things, maybe like the beehive radar Drew mentioned. What a great time to be a PT model fan, huh???

I'm glad to hear you're excited about the Italeri upgrade kit. However don't expect to see the beehive radar. I think you may have to do some scratch building for that. Trust me, it's been an absolute pleasure to work with my new friends at Italeri along with support from my friends here. I'm anxious to see the finished product. I'm not sure when this will be released but as soon as I hear something I will let you you know.
