Roy;
I saw a photo of a gent, running a remote control PT off the Stern of the USS Joseph P. Kennedy (DD-850), at a past PT Boat reunion, was this you? If it is, what happened to that boat? It looks larger that 1/20th scale. was it?
take care,
TED

Hi Ted, I did not know that photo existed until I got a copy of Knights of the Sea a few months ago. Two of the photos on page 86 are of my old PT 326 which was my first 1/16 scale 5 foot PT. I also had the twin to that boat, the PT 327 which I built and donated to the Museum the day of the dedication back in 1976 and is still on display at Fall River today. I was controlling the 326 from a row boat in the cove for the demonstration and she still lives in my garage although not in quite the same shape as in those photos. One day 2 years ago I got tired of looking at her and how she "aged" in 40 years and got inspired to build the PT 623. I will be posting some new "General Quarters" photos of the 623 in a week or so.

Roy has sent me some photos of his 'big boats' on the river. They are GREAT to look at and of course they move on the water! They are large enough so that he mounts cameras on them and get the feel of standing right on the deck.
If my 1/32 scale PT-157 took me 5+ years to build (and still updating details based on newer information), I calculate it would take me 20-years to do one at Roy's scale!

Hi Bridge
I'll be posting some new photos here by the end of the week with the full crew at General Quarters. I also have all the video footage for the DVD in the computer and will start editing in the sound next week. Ted, the 623 is an entirely new boat and the 326 still lives out in the garage looking pretty tired. However, none of my boats are a shadow of the work Bridge has put into his master pieces.

Roy, I think you need to send me that PT-326, so Stan can make her nice again. Of course, you won't get it back, it will become part of my Mosquito Fleet Exhibit. No, you can't have a battleflag..........

I know Roy, and it takes real friend to offer a home for my Engine, but hooking it up to run the house's electricity will cost you more in gas. If you send me the boat, I promise to send you a photo of one of my Battle Flags, and I will even sign it for you.
