How is everyone coming along with their 109 model Christmas presents? I have made some progress but those wing nuts on the tail end of those torpedos are tough for a 88 year old. There are 32 of them about the size of gnats and my fingers are not as nimble as they once were. Ha

I'm probably not going to get started until March. I'm also anxious to see what everyone is doing with theirs.

"There are 32 of them about the size of gnats" That's funny C. J., thanks for the laugh I needed one this morning.

GOOD LUCK on your project C.J. I won't get started for some time now, need to build PT-61 first, and because I do not do my own work, I have to wait until Stan is ready to start my project. At this point, I am still on the fence of building her out of the box as PT-109, or coming up with another boat number.

If you don't have a 109 model already it would look good in yiur JFK exhibit.
Cheers and, if you're Orthodox Christian, Merry Christmas today.

I thought about that because right now Stan built me that nice paper PT-109 model (photos of this were on the board) but I do not have PT-109 model of Italeri's magnitude , so it might be right out of the box build.

I have completed my 109 model Christmas present. I does look like the 80 foot Elco's I saw in the Solomons alright. That 37 mm artillery gun on the bow, how did the aim that thing? Is a crew available from Itilari for this model?

I was never on a Elco PT boat. I guess to aim a tied down 37 mm gun,use the boat like
a P-39. For elevation I guess the adjustment is part of the gun. Just my wide guess.

Victor.
The traverse of the towed gun split trail M3 Anti-Tank Gun was 60 degrees and elevation was -10 to + 15 degrees.
Cheers
