Hi there.

After losing a couple of dear friends to the Grim Reaper this past week, and a familly member not that long ago, I just want to remind people to contact those whom you keep mening to but keep putting off. They might not be here tomorrow.

We are now getting into the Christmas season when thoughts about distant family members and friends become foremost in our minds. Family and good friends are two of the most precious gifts we can be blessed with.

Here's wishing you all a safe Christmas and holiday season. May you have many more of them and may you enjoy them with family and friends.

I wonder how many of us are going to be getting a nice big box this year with that wonderful new Italeri PT boat in it?

Cheers and following seas.

Thanks guys.

That is what I love about this forum - a lot of you are like family. Like family we sometimes have spirited disussions because of our passions for certain boats or aspects of them. I live in a small city and unfortunately there is no modelling club where models can be built amidst discussions of them. This forum fills that void so very well. In addition to that this board has actual veterans who fought on those magnificent boats. What's even better is that those veterans share their experiences and stories of both actions and relaxation whilst in the Pacific. Reading what some of the meals were and how they were prepared gives those with an interest in PT boats a much better understanding of the men on them. Those anecdotes are priceless.

I always find it interesting how many total strangers will come up to me whilst I'm running my 1/32 scale Lindberg PT boat on the local pond. Even at slow patrol cruising speed people admire the boat. It doesn't matter to them that the hull is not the most accurate. They just love to see it moving on the water. Many times I let them have a turn controlling it. Many tell me that are going to go and read up on PT boats.

It's interesting that these boats can envoke very strong feelings in people who have never heard of the exploits of these boats. I bet Frank A. has a fantastic time with his boats and displays and talking to the people who look at them.

Even if it's here on the board by proxy, I feel extremely priviledged and honoured to have met and conversed with the veterans and the PT boat enthusiasts. You people are like a breath of fresh air.
Thanks again for letting me be a member of your wonderful community.

Cheers

Pete

It is always wonderful to hear from you. Funny, we probably spend more time on the message board than we do with our Wife's. You are right Pete, I love and enjoy what I do. Every Exhibit invokes thrills that I can't explain. The boats without a doubt are my passion, and I am so lucky to have met such wonderful people, both on this board and throughout my travels over the years.
