Hi all,
am asking if anyone has pictures of leads on images of 80ft Elco boats used in the English Channel on D Day.
have asked several of the more learned Brethren, and have some info, just seeing if anyone has info they can share off line for a Boat build trying to undertake.
I am specifically looking at Armament layouts and colours for the European boats of 1944
any help greatly appreciated

Graham: Besides the three "special mission" boats of Ron2, the Elcos of Ron 34 (PTs 498-509) were in operation on D-Day. Tell me your e-mail address and I'll send you what pics I have.

MTBRon 34 published a spiral-bound history of the squadron titled RON 34. I think you can buy one from the PT Boats, Inc. ship's store....

Hi Will,
thanks for the info
my email kcu61269@bigpond.netXXX.au
remove the "XXX" and you should be ok
many thanks for reponding, I am looking at doing a DDay era boat, but am proabably going to have to get another 20mm Oerlikon, they appear to standardise on 2, 1 either side of the Bridge forward section.
any info is very welcome

Hi Graham,
Ken Campbell has a website about RON35 with a couple of photos of several D-Day boats, I especially like the shot of PT517. It is at web address of
www.members.cox.net/squadron35/index.htm. Also some action reports etc. It may help. Jerry
