Makes me excited to start PT-66 project, although Stan reminded me that I now have 8 projects at his house. I may have to flip a coin to see what to start next. Oh no make that 9 projects, I have PT-109 being shipped as we speak. SORRY STAN.

Frank;
Well don't worry, I know we have talked around this, but I will make PT 61 for you(yes I know the correct color for this boat, she was the only one painted like this at Tulagi/Searlesville 1943), with Wayne's and Gene's assistance, because of my intimate conection with Ken, who I consider not only a connection to the past, also my past heritage, but also a friend of the family and my World War ll Seadaddy in Fast Boats, but we can discuss off line, as for now, I am swamped with training at my new unit, so we might have to work out some logistics, like i do the model, and Stan does the plexiglass.etc.
I am not Stan, But I am always here for you Frank and will always be!
Take care,
TED

Frank;
PT 66 is a great idea........but what time frame? Being I lean towards the planes, I would do her as CHEETHA! just for the pin-up, but seriously I iamagine your going for RON 8 TIME FRAME RIGHT?

Ted, your offer is something that I appreciate more than you could ever know. I just always loved that photo of PT-66, tied up along the river with that zany camo look, so I am leaning towards this. I think it's very nice of you to offer your help and assistance, as Stan will not be doing model forever. I will talk with you off line for sure.

And, the photo was taken from the foredeck of PT 109.
That's the 109's port depth charge and port forward torpedo & tube at the bottom left of the shot.

Drew ;
Thanks for posting and renewing this thread.
Jeff;
I just noticed something else in this photo that I missed before. Look at the torpedo warhead and tube of "109", it has the same "cartoon drawing/ water color" look I mentioned that is evident in the PT 109 crew photo. This Locks it, Proof!!! These are all from the same roll of film(including the two 109 underway damaged photos), and it was water damaged. SUCCESS!
Take care,
TED
P.S. Something more on this boat tomorrow.
