Jarred:
You can purchase many line drawings right from this site by contacting PT Boats Inc. They have many drawings and photographs that will certainly get you started. The Kit you speak of will require much work as it is certainly not very accurate. With the money you will spend to get the Lindberg Kit looking decent, you could spend the money to purchase the new Italeri PT 596, which is one of the best plastic Kits to come down the road in a long time. In any event good luck on your project and welcome to this site. Many of your questions concerning PT Boats will be answered right here.

The Lambert/Ross book ALLIED COASTAL CRAFT V.2 has a line drawing of the 109 and is a wealth of information on the Elcos. I strongly recommend buying a copy.

There is an article in the Mar/Apr issue of Fine Scale Modeler that shows how to make corrections to this kit. If you cannot find a copy, please contact me.

Geary,
You say there are instructions to make corrections to the Lindberg 1/32nd 80' Elco in the "March/April issue" of Fine Scale Modeler magazine?
March/April issue of what year? I don't remember any such article in the last several issues of FSM (however, I am getting old, and could be massively brain-farting, or I somehow missed the March/April 2007 FSM). There WAS an article on just this subject in an issue of FSM, but as I remember, it was about 15 or more years ago...
BTW, I've NEVER seen, to my satisfaction, what I think would be an as-accurate-as-possible model of what PT 109 looked like under JFK, in ANY modeling magazine article or in photos from ANY modeling show (hey, leave the A-frame mast off, boys, and where are the tubular flash-hiders on the .50 muzzles? The depth charges were closer forward of the forward torpedo tubes than that, and where's the canvas splash shield on the aft .50 turret? Etc., etc.).

FSM is starting a series on the Italeri 80' Elco kit. I just received my May issue and there isn't much there except a very abreviated review on the kit. We'll see what the article brings.
