Call me crazy, and I guess you might just be correct. Over the years I have collected some nice hand sewn patches for the Brown Water Navy and the PBR's of Viet Nam. A few weeks ago I decided that maybe it was time to have Stan model some other boats, so I decided to do some British MTB's, but at the top of my list would be the PBR-2. I have checked out one model kit at 1/35th scale by Tamiya which looks to be a very good build. At that scale, I could add whatever I needed, although I am not sure if any one makes figures for the PBR . Have any of you guys ever built one of these neat fast boats? Don't get me wrong guys, once I purchase that new PT-109 Model, anything could happen, but I would love to have Stan do a real nice boat in a Diorama mode, and use my patches to make a nice display..............

I have built the Tamiya 1/35 PBR and it is a great kit. It is a fun build and doesn't take up as much soace as the Italeri PT's.

It's a nice kit and being Tamiya it's also an easy build. The included crew figures are a nice touch too.

Just don't make Stan radio control it and he might build it for you.

Some do radio control this boat though.

I just remembered that Stan had built a Scratch built PBR for a customer several years back. I need to see if he has any photo's. I really do love those little PBR BOATS. I mean 30 feet of fighting boat, just like the PT's..............

He did not scratch build the PBR. He built the Tamiya kit for me in the late 1990s.

He did scratch build a 5 foot PBR for a customer, which I saw at the Gun/Knife Show. In fact it was then sold to a man from Long Island. I will post photo's of her, providing Stan still has them.

Built the Tamiya "Pibber" when it came out many years ago. The kit is very nice with some good figures and equipment included.

I had it mounted on a pre-made greenish brown diorama base that was clear acrylic and plastic. It had a huge wake and looked very nice. I don't remember who came out with it but if the same company came out with one for the Italeri 1/35 PT Boats, I would buy one in a heart beat.
