Victor;
the photo of Alfred Vanderbilt I said I was going to post is on my thumb drive, well I have since found out youngest son or daughter, or even Grandson, must have tried to force a USB plug into one of my towers ports and jacked it up. So, now the tower is not reading any of my USB ports, so it will be a few days till i get this repaired.
sorry for the delay.
Take care,
TED

Ted, I received my "All Hands" copy from Headquarters in the mail yesterday. There is a great shot of the jump seat being used by the Skipper of the boat, while he is talking to quartermaster coming out of the charthouse.

I spoke with Dick Keresey about his boat, PT-105, at length. At one point we were discussing speed issues he was having with the boat. He thought it might be a weight issue and they removed the aft piece of cockpit armor along with the short piece that attaches to it on the starboard side of the cockpit. It ended up having no effect on the speed. The problem turned out to be a propeller issue. He left that part of the armor plate off his boat.

Interesting David, it shows how essential speed was. I'm not sure why the armor would be suddenly suspect though.

Ted, I think this thread may have the photo you mentioned: http://www.ptboats.org/cgi-local/sitenetbbs/netboardr.cgi?fid=102&cid=101&tid=2907&sc=20&pg=1&x=0 Hope your computer is OK...

David;
Thanks for posting this for me and Frank. According to Frank the officer in the "Jump seat" is LT Stan Thomas, he became CO of RON 24, November 14, 1944-January 25, 1945 (PT's 106, 332-343). He later contracted malaria and was relieved by LCDR Ed Hoagland on 25 Jan 1945 at Mindoro.
Take care,
TED

Thanks for posting that image guys, you don't see many of the bridge door open. That's a tight fit climbing onto the bridge.
