I just finished reading the book on building PT 596 (Italeri) from Garth. At my age, I no
longer build models. However, I read his book like reading a novel. For PT 596 builder, this book is very helpful. It will save you time, money, and come out with a museum quality model. This include PT 109, 191, 374, and 559.
While on the subject of modeling, I like to get a copy of the construction manual of PT 109
furnished with the kit by Italeri for reference. Repeated requests to them to no avail. If
someone has an used manual that can spare, please email me (victorkchun@aol.com).

I had wanted to get the book, but was told it was to high priced, and photographs not that good. Maybe I will change my mind.

Victor, you're never too old to build models! You're just looking for the instruction sheet? I could probably scan mine for you if you would like.

Frank,
You are right, some of the pictures are not the greatest due to the depth of field. However,
they served their purpose, not for beauty but for instruction.

Thank you, Mr. Chun.

I have been told by my publisher that the Italeri book's price will be lowered to under $30 and that it will be put out as an ebook as well (soon).

Additionally, I did do a second book in the same light as the Italeri book focusing in on hte Revell PT kits; the 211/212/207 and the 109/117/167/190 ....

That book will be in book and ebook format and will be under $30 in price.

Save your money, Frank. I'll send you my copy if you want. I have no use for it.

Again, I want to thank Mr. Chun for the kind words. He's a true gentleman.

Oh, and by the way? In regard to both books? Alex Johnson and Wayne Traxel were of immeasurable assistance in the preparation and writing of them.

In point of fact, in regard to the Revell book; it would not have been possible without those kind gentlemen.

Used Garth's book extensively in modifying a Lindberg 1/64 scale 109. Found the photos to be very good and the text useful. It also inspired me to start hunting the Italeri 596 kit, but have decided to wait on the new PT-109 kit instead. Looking forward to the book on the Revell kits as well.
