I wonder if Italeri is planning on giving us a 1/35 Higgins boat next?
That'd be neat as there are at least two actual boats around for details to be gleamed from.
Cheers

I think it would be a great idea for ITALERI to start working on giving us a HIGGINS PT BOAT Kit, followed by a 77 Foot Elco, and the much ignored HUCKINS PT BOAT.............

I could see them doing a Higgins Boat, 77' Elco (PT-59 would be awesome), but I really couldn't imagine them doing a Huckins boat. A lot of their support is in Europe and with the armor community so another Vosper is possible or something Italian. Most of the planet doesn't know what a Huckins boat is or was or even cares. I would still like to see them do a set with various armaments and radar to update the 103 boats plus I think a 109 crew would do well. I could also see them doing some Riverine type boats. Ted probably has some suggestions. :-)

I concurr, but would rather see the 77-foot ELCO first before the Higgins.

I wouldn't be so quick to write off the Huckins boat, as it was a part of the PT BOAT program. Granted it never achieved anything close to what the Elco and the Higgins did during the war, but I would rather have one of those models than the Italian Mas Boat. Oh hell, I'll just have Stan make it from scratch, after he kills me of course...................

My guess is the Huckins boat has too limited a market appeal. I like the 77' Elco idea because of the MacArthur and Kennedy ties. Plus like other PT's so many different things were done to them. But both the 77' Elco and Higgins PT would be great subjects.

My vote's for a second-series Elco 77-footer, with extra parts for a PT 59/60/61 gunboat (sorry, Higgins fans).
As for a 1/35th Huckins PT, uhh...no (sorry, Frank!).

I hear you guys, she wasn't very pretty, and never had any action with the enemy. I was just thinking down the road. I too would love a HIGGINS or ELCO 77 Footer long before a Huckins would ever come out. With a 77 footer, the projects could be endless.
