Just wondering which boats had the Manxon .50 quad turret? Did any of the early 103 Classboats have it even if only for experimental evaluation?

The Manxon .50 quad turret is available from Dragon for @ $31.99 Canadian.

Thanks and cheers

No Photographic Proof yet, but Rex Anderson skipper of PT-156 had the stern 20mm replaced with a Quad 50 mount supplied by the Army which included training of its use and maintainence.

What do we have for photos of PT-195 other than what Al has posted here. I would like to see the boat in all her glory.

I see the M-55 Quad mount on EBAY for about $20.00. What is the difference between this and the M-45 that Al posted. I could not find the one from Dragon.

The Dragon turret is from their M-16 halftrack kit too but the dedicted turret kit has the wheeled mount which isn't needed gor a boat. Dragon M-16 kit is about $53.00 Canadian.

Monogram used to do a much simplified M-16 in 1/32 scale which was nice for those of us struggling to make the 1/32 Lindberg boat look decent.

I see the 195 boat has a turret mounted 20 mm too.

I think I know which boat I m ight build when I get the new 103 kit.

I'm thinking about casting one of the 596 torpedo bodys and also the props on it and then lengthening the body to atube launched length then casting four of them for the 103 tubes.

Cheers

PT-156 definitely had a stern mounted Maxon mount. My father-in-law Col. James Grant Burgess, USA ret.(deceased) was instrumental in providing this mount to the USN in New Guini.
