The advanced base at Bastia opened October 15, 1943 for patrols by the boats of Ron 15. They nested in the 'Old Port', which is the smaller port, left of center, in the photo. The British boats used the larger port on the right, primarily.
The recon photo was taken in 1941 by the Germans, and was found at the Archives.

You can see the Sea Wall that surrounds the Bay. I wonder how this same photo looks today.

Frank.
I just looked with Google Maps and it looks like there is now a bridge across the left hand harbour. There is also another harbour to the right of the one on the right side of the image. I wonder if it's post-war?
Cheers

Peter;
If you are talking about road N193, you needed to zoom your google a little more, that is a glitch in the system of google earth/google maps, there is no bridge, the yellow roadway notation just continues across the water, it looks identical today, to this 1941 aerial photo. The only exceptions are the yacht moorings now inside the quay wall, and there is a ferry pier jutting out from that open area on right, it handles 5 ferries(to Civitavecchia, Lovorno, Vado Ligure, Genova, Marseille , the quay wall in this area on the right handles another 2 ferries(Nice and Toulon).
The building that used to be PT HQ for RON 15/22/29, has only changed by having a roll up door installed on the front door, and an extension has been built connecting it to the building next door, to the right, which was PT Mansion(originally a garage) and a type of repair shop.

Thanks so much. What an awesome photo, I wonder how many even knew PT BOATS were nestled here during WWII. It almost looks unchanged from the war.

I found an awesome photograph that shows the boats right in this port, with the sea walls. I can't send it or post it because the file is too large. I need to find a JPEG shot, so I can post this, but it looks almost as if nothing has changed., except for the area for the larger ships.
