I just received copies of these two volumes. The main book contains 200+ pages of (mostly) full page black and white ads that appeared in various magazines (mostly boating mags like Yaching, MotorBoating, etc.) during WWII. The second is a color supplement comprising 35 pages of color ads. They are both softcovers with crisply printed photos on a nice grade of paper (coated in the color issue).
From a researcher's point of view, these contemporary ads are very useful, as they often contain photos not commonly seen and give one a better idea of who made what for the boats. You also get a feel for the hype and propaganda rampant at the time.
Neat stuff!
(The usual disclaimer...)

Sounds neat. I can still remember haunting the used book stores looking for PT pics in old copies of Yachting, etc............

I have over 200 of these original ads, although they just sit in a museum box with nothing to do. I once thought about matting them, but I never did. I just love the art work and the WWII theme behind them.

Well, it's time to cast off my PT Ads collection... maybe that will stop me from buying any more!
Over 170 original WW2 PT Boat ads, including the vast majority of the Elco, Higgins, Packard, and Federal-Mogul ads... all original ads removed from period magazines, packed into a 12x15 binder with plastic sleeves and acid free paper. These are the ads I cleaned up and reproduced in the above mentioned books.
On ebay:

The starting price is a fraction of what these ads would get if sold individually... typically they get about $10 each.
Thanks for looking!
