Hi all,
Italeri has posted in their news section their CAD drawings for the 109 kit. I'm hoping this gives us an idea of what we can expect from this kit. Here's a shot of the full hull but go to their web site and take a look at the rest of what they've put together. I'm seeing a lot of detail that came directly from the information Dick and Jeff provided and that gives me great hope that we have a winner coming our way.
Here's a link to the news page...

The Oerlikon and mount really look nice. You can really notice that the area of the aft deck is much greater than is represented on the ancient Lindberg kit. That extra 3/4" that the rear deck of the Lindberg kit needs really makes a difference in how the dk layout looks.
Thanks for the link.
Cheers

Dave
The photos from the site look very good, thanks to Dick and Jeff's input. This sure looks to be a winner. It's so nice to work with a Company that is willing to listen to what certain groups want in a model. We have you to thank for this as well Dave. Your conversations with the Company was a home run for the rest of us. THANKS GUYS................

Looking good, it appears that they've made great use of available resources.
I noticed the photoetched dead lights had 1 too many crossbars. I let them know about it in case it's an easy fix.

Methinks that this release will be the death knell for that ancient 1/32 scale Lindberg kit. That kit is over $100.00 here or was last time I looked. I wonder if it's even in production any more?
I noticed the torpedo tubes on the Italeri kit are shown in the run out position.
Cheers

Looks good...I noticed the searchlight and both mounts -- the pole and the pintle arm -- are included in the CAD image of the cockpit (or "command post," as Italeri labels it).

This might even coax me out of model building retirement.
