Many of us are eagerly waiting for Italeri's 103 Class boat to dock. Forthose of you planning to build one, what boat do you plan to model? Why?

Me, I'm thinking perhaps the 105 with the rear torpedo tubes replaced with ammo boxes.

Cheers

Maybe the boat that started it all, PT-103, as she looked when she came out of Elco. I guess the reason is simple, this was the beginning of a wonderful and beautiful boat, and I like the look of the boat without all of the things on her decks. First, we do PT-66........................

OOPS!

I just looked at the images of the early 103 Class boat I'd want to build and it's the 103 with the 4 depth charges and 2 ammo lockers instead of each aft torpedo tube. I might even leave off the mufflers.

Thanks Frank for jogging the old memory.

Cheers

If I recall correctly . . . .

That is the original configuration and how the first boat was delivered.

I'd probably use the Italeri 596 kit, but I've always wanted to do Murray Preston's PT-489....

Maybe one of the reportedly high-scoring boats such as the 115 or the 124, or -- whenever we get an aftermarket SCR-517A setup -- one of the early "beehive" radar boats...

At the high cost of the kit, though, it'll probably be just the (one and only) old 109.

Now that I think of it, I really do not have a PT-109 for the Exhibit. Stan is building me the one made from paper, but that's really all I have. Might just build her right from the box..............

I want to get a good look at it. If they do a JFK & crew I'm not sure what I'll do.

It would most be a RON-10 boat(s). I would like to re-do my old Lindberg 109 of the PT 169, "ZEBRA SNAFU". I first built the 169 way back in 1987 and it has seen better days! I'll pull out all of the electronics in the old 169 and stuff it into the Italerie. I bet there is no comparison between the old Lindberg 1/32 kit of the 109 and this new Italerie Kit, huh??
