Earl;
I remember a story you will enjoy completely! We were our 65' and 68' patrol boats, I was on another boat, but we were underway for El Salvador and the BM1(who was LPO) on one of the 65' boats, BM1 Angel Martinez told me this funny story: We were in such rough seas, that most of his crew was sea sick and really incapacitated. He went down from the pilot house to the radio room to do his periodic radio check with home base, and as he got down there, he grabbed the radio mic and began his radio check, for some reason he looked over and saw three roaches perched on a beam, and he said they were waving at him and saying in a heavy hispanic accent....."Chaay Man, yew OK, No Woory, Yew gonna make it" and then gave him thier thumbs up and then started dancing Salsa!
When he told me this, once we got to El Salvador, we laughed for days about it. I would ask him if the Roaches allowed his crew to do Pre-underway checks! HA HA HA HA!!!!!!
