A couple of years ago I heard from a PT veteran who was at Tulagi in the early days, that said they had "some pretty nice foxholes." One said "we dug and lined them and put benches down there and had ‘em stocked with food and water and stuff."

It never occured to me that they were that big, because I've always thought of a foxhole as a place where you’d only get one or two guys in. He said that was one type, and the most typical – but "these were underground shelters you might say. We had them fixed up so that when it rained the water wouldn’t drain in."

Anybody else ever heard about these flashy foxholes?

while i was on base force on rendova i livedin a tent.myb foxhole was just outside the flap.it was about three feet deep by 5 ft long and three fty wide.used it just about every night,also had a littlearea i made and stored raisin jack.needeed a little picck me up while in there earl
