Greetings,

I'm trying to piece together the original officers in Ron 23, and i need your help. My interest is in the fact that my father became Skipper of the 286 in March, 1945. And that the squadron was commissioned June 28th,

Here is what little I have, be it right or wrong.

277 CO-unknown
278 CO-John Casbier
279 - CO Bert W. Thompson
280- un
281 - CO- Ray Sparkman
282 - CO - John C. Calhoun
283 - CO William D. Schaffner Exec. Breed
284 - CO Richard Haspel
285 - CO Wilbur Pooley
286 - CO un
287 - CO un I do know that at some point the CO was James M. Stewart and his Exec. was
Bill Treeman, but they are not originals.
288 - un

I do have some other names but don't know where they fit. For instance, I think Carson was a CO, but don't know on which boat.

Can anyone fill in the blanks ?

Steve

Steve;
I hope you meant Commissioned on 28 June 1943? It was De-Commissioned on 26 Nov 1945.
What was the original tour of a PT Skipper? If it was 12 months, you are talking of at least 3 Skippers and 3 Crews for each boat during this time period?
Take care,
TED
P.S. thanks for the phone message, call you when I can.

Ted,

Yes I did mean commissioned in 1943 and I'm looking for the Officers just after the commissioning.
