I had seen this diorama before, and I must say the builder did a great job in his construction. With that being said, showing a boat that never saw action with the enemy, shows how little people know about these wonderful little boats. It pains me to think that people who see this, will think this boat was destroyed by the enemy with her crew killed or captured. This is one reason why guys that build these boats, should do their homework before putting out the finished product to the public. Even if this diorama were donated to me, I could never show it at any Exhibits because it is false..................

Maybe he knows the history but chose to build a what might have been diorama; much like a Hollywood film isn't a documentary. I still think that the diorama is well built and had it been an actual event depicted it would have been fantastic.
I concur with your statement that it isn't suitable for a historical museum display.
