Hey guys;
If you dont know about it Hulu has 135 episodes of Mchale's Navy! In the pilot; Mchale burns $300 water skiing behind PT 73, but he sinks a $3 million Jap Destroyer the week before.
Enjoy my brothers,

And if you want a shock, try checking out the price of an original Revell 1/72nd scale "McHale's Navy" PT 73 model kit, when -- and if -- one appears on eBay!

Of course, you can still build the Revell 1/72nd scale "British Vosper M.T.B.," which is the same kit (minus the radar mast/dome and "PT 73" decals).

Is that Vosper still in production? I don't see one on Revell's site. Are you sure you're not thinking of the 1/72 Airfix Vosper?

Thanks and cheers from Peter

Peter Tare Builder,

The Revell 1/72nd scale "British Vosper M.T.B." Kit No. 05084 is from Revell Germany. Don't know if its still in Revell's current catalog (available for order), but it shouldn't be too hard to find one.

I saw at least one of the kits in my local high-end hobby shop when I was there a couple of weeks ago.

It is the exact same Revell 1/72nd scale kit as the 1960's "McHale's Navy PT 73," minus, as I said, the odd radar mast and dome and the "PT 73" decals.

The original kit was cast in a battleship gray plastic, while the "British Vosper M.T.B." incarnation is a very light, almost white gray. The "British Vosper M.T.B." kit even retains the little figures representing "McHale," "Captain Binghampton," "Ensign Parker," and "Seaman Gruber" that the original TV show-based kit had.

T. Garth Connelly's "PT Boat World/PT Consulting" website has a review and photos of this kit on it, in the "More PT Models" section.
