This photo shows a Higgins 265 class helm area (Ron 22). There appears to be two rotary switches behind the throttle. I cant figure out what they went to. According to all bridge wiring diagrams, everything is accounted for. Any ideas?

Hi Bob,
Just a guess, but they may be for the Red or UV lights (they had a resistor in the circuit and a red lens) for the little spotlights that shine onto the compass and the flux gate compass auxiliary indicator dial and onto the Tachometers/ Manifold Pressure gageboard. Do you see that bracket in the foreground in front of the compass binnacle? I think one of the lights are mounted on the other side of that. The PT658 has similar lights but are mounted in a slightly different spot. Again this is just a scientific wild ass guess. The UV light would help make the markings on the compass dials illuminate for night ops.
I bet CJ Willis would know. I hope this helps. Jerry

It is too bad my grandfather just passed away. He would have known for sure as he was an electrician on PT Boats.
It is amazing the things that you wish you would have thought to ask.
