Thankyou for the response sir. I assume yep is regarding the 1st part of the question.so it is an abreviation as opposed to an acronym....EG " regimental official number" Cheers, B.J.

Many times in my Exhibits, I use the word SQUADRON spelled out . I do this because the majority of the people who visit the Exhibit, have no clue what a PT BOAT is let alone a RON, but they can identify with a Squadron of boats.

My 1st reaction to your note was....if they dont know what a PT-Boat is they shouldent be allowed in to your exibet..........................then I had a 180 & thought...............dang.............if there are so many ignorant folk around, maybe we need to start a primary school education type of exposure & learning program, that way such ignorance can be overcome.. hello pappy, here is one for you...my grandad was a gm on a crash boat. the boat was avr c-26654. sorry i couldnt resist. i mean no disrespect as i too had to learn the lingo and what i know isnt much. this board and the members here are a wealth of information ...all things pt and otherwise. regards
