Does anyone have measured drawings of the engineroom workbench on the port side for Higgins 265 series?
Thanks,

No measured drawings, but the inboard plan/profile for this group shows the workbench clearly. It would not be difficult to develop the dimensions within fractions of an inch based on known dimensions such as the thickness of the frames in that area, etc. This drawing is covered in the Higgins CD images 10 and 11.

Thanks Al and Jerry,
We decided to build the workbench and install it in the engine room, so we can use it while working there. We are getting ready to plank the transom and we have built stairs to the top of the boat. The first layer of planking has started at the stern and is moving forward, almost to the engine room hatch. Handrails were started again from the stern working forward. We will set up a temporary woodshop on the deck to keep the trips down.

Here are a couple Transverse Section of the Higgins - The photos below show the difference in the final outcome of the Higgins 78' boat. The top image is the early configuration. The main difference is the above deck arrangement. The early delivered Higgins PT71 - ? had the cockpit fully enclosed and the two turrets set much further back. Strangely the two turrets weren't in line with each other, instead the Port side turret was a few feet further back then the Starboard side? ? ? ? ? You can visit Gene, PT-King site and see the Higgins Factory photos. Of the nine images, seven show this early configuration, while two showing PT-87 and PT-88 in the more familiar configuration. I assume the Navy wanted their earlier configuration replaced with the second version.

The second photo show the standard configuration used throughout out the war, I'm not sure if the early boats had their superstructures change or if they were used as built.
These Transverse Section are available for purchase here at Headquarters about 18 in total.
Order No. 95 - 103 and No. 114 - 116.

Have fun,

Very interesting Dick. Do you know how many Higgins were delivered in the early configuration?
