If I fail to get any feed back on the original inside colour on the cowlings, can anyone direct me on researching the topic please? Cheers, John.

I spoke to Mr. Andy Shannahan this afternoon. He worked at the Elco site for many years. I posed this question to him and his response was, "As far as I can recall the vents for the boats were all painted one color. Some had a brownish inside when they were sent to the plant, but were painted during the painting process of the boats. He did see some that were sort of a two tone paint scheme in that the outside was say Green, and the inside a shade darker or lighter.

In all of my PT BOAT EXHIBIT boats built, all of the vents are painted in one color, so if you follow that, or choose to make the inside a bit different shade of gray or green, whichever you choose to paint the boat, you will not be wrong, according to Mr. Shannahan.................
