Hi everybody. Merry Christmas! Here are a few photos I got from TM1/c Chester Gralund of Higgins PT226. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor (on the way to the Phillipines) and was able to attend the Christmas party there with Admiral Nimitz. Here is the menu and some photos of the Admiral and also a few pics of the Huckins PT Boat PT296 tied up aft of his boat. Enjoy the pics! Jerry

Jerry;
Nice photos! I noticed Nimitz has a Sub tie clip(possibly a Gato class sub) boy that is a HUGE tie clip! Wish they had Boat captains and Exec's listed, oh well.
Take care and have a Merry Christmas

Hey Jerry great stuff, and thanks for posting the Huckins photo, we need a lot more of them. Sadly there are so few. One these days I have to start drawing it but with the very limit technical info available its going to be a job.
Merry Christmas to all and a happy new year,
Dick . . .

Jerry:
Great photos. For those interested, the correct spelling of CO Ron ONE is: Edward Magnuson ERIKSON as verified in several documents originated in Division 17 where he served as boat captain for a very, very short period until he was snatched up as XO of that Division by Lt Baughman, the CO.
Is there any chance you might have a photo of ERIKSON?

Hi Allan,
Sorry this is all I have, no photo of Erikson. Ted, I never noticed his tie clip before, that is pretty cool. Merry Christmas! Jerry

Good morning, I am new to the forum, finding it after doing an internet search information I may not have found before on my grandfather Chester Gralund. Did you know my Chester or meet him in Pearl Harbor. And also do you have the photos you posted on this post, they are not coming through now. Thank you.

Hello M,
What was your first name? Anyway I got those photos from Chesters' son Dennis who lives in Jackson Wyoming. He and his wife visited the PT658 several years ago in Portland and donated his uniform for us to display on board the boat and museum. He also allowed me to photograph the 43 pictures from his Dads photo album. I could email them to you if you like (but I need your email address) or you could just contact Dennis. You should also consider coming to Portland OR and visiting the PT658.
