REPOST - PT Boat related Christmas Card artwork

Hey gang . . .

Here is a repost of sorts from last year. With several new members onboard and a reminder to others, here is a link to my website where several items can be downloaded, see itemized description below:

1.) Elco's Parts Catalog, thanks to Al Ross who was kind enough to loan me his copy so as to scan the entire catalog and create a ".PDF" file to share whit all. This book is 518 pages and contains parts list with parts photographs and occasional line drawings.

2.) Motor Torpedo Boat, Engineer's Handbook by BuShips, this booklet was recreated from scanned microfilm and is 50 pages.

3.) Administrative History of PT Boats, this was a group project created from horrible microfilm, recovered and retyped by board members: Frank Andruss Sr., Jeff Davidson, Will Day, Jerry Gilmartin, Gary Paulsen, Al Ross, Ted Walther, my wife Mary Ann Washichek and myself. This book is 196 pages mainly text with a few photographs for topic illustration purposes.

4.) Christmas Cards, finishing up these downloads are a couple of cards I created for the holiday season, which can be downloaded and printed on color inkjet or laser printers. The artwork is in high resolution (400 DPI) to allow for top quality printing.

They are in several different file types you can choose to download or experiment with all three types. Two are in image file format such as .JPG and .PNG (the .png file format is a new type of file that is called loss-less quality unlike .jpg). In addition the cards are provided in MS Office (Word) .DOC file format. When you print these yourself ALWAYS set your paper size to (8.5" x 11" Full Bleed) Full Bleed. To print these out I would suggest buying the special "Greeting Card" paper found at stores like Office Depot ( their in-store brand = click Card Paper ), also similar products at OfficeMax, Staples or maybe Best Buy. This paper product come in Glossy (very impressive) or Matte finish and is usually come in store brand as well as Avery and HP brands. These do an excellent job and include envelopes and the paper is scored for easy folding. Always experiment with the printing before using better grade papers. You could also send the image files out to a photo places, everywhere now-a-day, on the internet or locally, even at WalMart.

The card as shown below comes in a religious and non-religious format, same with the inside greeting. You can even scrap the inside greeting and create your own. The Word .doc file format comes with an easy to use text box that you can add a custom message or thoughts without any graphics skill. I hope you use them and have fun with them. Please enjoy, and thanks,
Dick . . . .

I got one of these cards in the mail from my friend JOHN MOLNAR the other day. They really look nice, and come out very professional. Would be nice if there were more scenes to choose from for different occasions and not just Christmas time..........
