All,
Looking over the drawings for the 80ft Elco's it appears that the towing eyebolt on the bow was anchored in the frame and fairly solid; but when I review pictures of the boats I do not really notice them. I'm trying to decide to model an eyebolt on the 337 conversion and I'm not sure if I should or not.

thoughts?

All of my models built for the Exhibit have the towing eye built into the build, which would be the correct way to go with your build. As you mentioned, these were drilled and bolted, deep into the structure of the boat, and were an important part of the towing process for the boats.

Greetings,
Is there a story with these tow rings? We're these a factory item or were some field applied. Any information on this?

Looking at my references I see them on later model Elco and Higgins boats. But I don't see them on 77' Elco, Class 103 80' Elco, or early Higgins boats.

Just curious from a modelers perspective.

Thanks guys
Dave
