Good eye, as I see this as well thanks to Dick's enlargement. I am now certain that this is PT-68. Great work by all of the guys. This is why this board is the best group around..............

Frank,
I agree with your opinion of how great this board can be. Now the question you just need to determine.....
wait for it.........
wait for it........
What shades of green did they use in camoflaging PT68?
That should really open a can of worms!

Jerry:
Just when you thought it was safe to go into the Water....... I think this will be the toughest part of the build., trying to get the( in field colors) just right. It certainly will be a challenge. This boat was one of the first to catch my eye as a young man because of it's unique look, so adding it to my Exhibit will be fun. Anyone care to take a crack at the colors?

Remember the colors were most likely done with whatever paint could be scrounged, and were often brushed (or sometimes mopped) on. . .

I'd strongly suggest that you contact John Snyder at WHITE ENSIGN MODELS ... He'll tell you EXACTLY what colors were used.

As you are already in the early building stages of the exact model, what colors are you choosing?

Because this is a custom, field applied scheme for which no official drawings are likely to exist, how is John going to accomplish this?

Frank ...
Ask Alex that, .......... my brain is fried right now, I'm working on two projects right now for Daley, I've just corrected my checking acct with my brother ... WOW! I knew more about math than he did ... and I'm job hunting ...........
But, ask Alex ........
He might confirm that I THINK we are using Navy Green and Tropical Green .... But, I can't remember.
Frankly, I'm not sure of my own name right now.

I will talk with Alex this evening. Al, do you have any thoughts as to the colors? I know this is really pulling at strings, because they probably used what was available when they applied the paint. I have seen one model with the colors and will send it to you for viewing. When I get the chance I will put it here:

Well, wait to hear from Alex, BUT try the ones I mentioned; they sound logical and time-accurate.
