Nov. 13th is the 68th anniversary of when PT154, RON 9 was shelled while on patrol off the coast of Bougainville.. Three men KIA. Five men wounded. In memory of Joseph McLaughlin, Arthur Schwerdt and Arnold Beckett.

These three men died shortly after midnight of the night 13-14 November 1943. (Joe, Arnold and Artie ... not Pat)
Let us also thank Pat Rogers who tended the wounded and cared for the dying that night and helped get the wounded boat to safety.
He was THERE and probably remembers that night like it was yesterday and all too often in the middle of the night.
Somehow, my father managed to survive his wounds and return to the States and have two more children (including me).
