Looking for deck hatch and coaming (sp?) drawings for Higgins. I would imagine that most all of the series would be the same. We dont have this drawing and it is not in the Louisiana digital library. If not drawings, then any detailed photos would help. Thanks in advance.

Hi Bob,
We replaced our deck on PT658 last winter. during the replacement we had to expose the structure of the hatch coaming for the engine removal hatch. I am attaching some photos of that here. If you want I could take measured photos of our hatch tommorrow when I to work on the boat. Jerry

Deck removed shows deck beams

Good view of the structure

With new deck installed

Fiberglassing

More glassing

Deck Framing on stern

More aft deck framing

Detail of corner framing of hatch

Adding deck to top of frames

Adding more deck to frames

Adding deck just outboard of hatch coaming

Bob, I hope these are helpful. Could you show us some up to date photos of the PT305? Jerry

Hi Bob,
OK I see what you are talking about. Actually, no I obtained them from a 63 ft Crash Boat. We also had trouble finding originals. Here are photos of us repaining the crash boat escape hatches. Jerry

Bob, did you see this escape hatch drawing at the LA site? It's smaller than what you're looking for but I thought some of the details might be useful:

Sorry guys, I must have explained wrong. Talking about the 5 square deck hatches, forepeak, forecastle (crews quarters), wardroom, etc. We know the exact locations and the opening size, just need coaming and hatch detail.

These shots are of PT308's hatches. I think Ted sent these to me about 20 years ago.

Bob . . .

I looked everywhere, the UNO Digital Library, my DVD, my hard copies of blueprints. Below is a mix bag of stuff. Sorry however could not find any real details, but a couple should be very useful along with Al's photos.

All the best,
Dick . . .

THESE WERE FROM UNO DIGITAL LIBRARY:

THESE PHOTOS BELOW - PLEASE EXCUSE THE QUALITY I HAD TO SHOOT THEM WITH MY DIGITAL CAMERS THEY WERE ALL TO BIG TO DO ANYTHING ELSE WITH:
