Hello again!
I have another question about the 103-196 series Elco 80' boats.
Is there a ladder that drops straight down or some steps at an angle when
entering the engine room via the engine room access hatch. I've seen some
pictures that show a platform that sits partly over the middle engine in some
pictures and in other pictures I don't see this.
Was there a ladder or angled steps down to a platform or did the ladder/steps
go all the way to the engine room deck.
Thanks

The parts book and the ELCO drawings show a ladder for all boats. This is from reel 3 image 191:

Mr. Ross,
Thanks for the response. From the picture it's hard to tell but is that ladder ending on
a platform or is it at the deck level of the engine room.
Thanks

Hi Greg,
Ladder is about 46 inches long and has a platform bolted to its bottom. This platform stops just above the center engine. The ladder is bolted to the forward hatch frame and pivots upwards to the bottom of the hatch frame, where it can be suspended. This gets it out of the way when not in use.

Mr. Ross,
Again thanks. I had no idea the ladder pivots up along with the platform. Interesting.

Does anyone have a picture or drawing of what the port forward corner of the engine room looked like? (Talking about the 80 foot early series Elco)
I have about a dozen pictures I've downloaded from the interwebs and more in books and none of them show that corner that I can tell.
Thanks,
GregB

Thanks for the reply TheBridge. I've already invested $60.00 to $70.00 in a $12.00 model, Got to try to control the spending.

This is a photo from Battleship Cove - the Elco but it may not be the hatch entrance you are interested in. I think the laddar in the background comes down from the dayroom.
