Hello Peter, ...

Thank you, but all I'm saying is that, heck yeah, the Lindberg 109 is an undetailed, inaccurate pig, BUT ...

BUT, ... if a modeler takes their time with it, has talent and imagination - that kit can be made into a good looking static model. I remember someone sending me a Xerox of an article from the late 70s out of the IPMS/USA Journal of how a guy turned it into a waterline model of PT-328.

Came out nicely too - considering the time ...

Peter, I've heard of modelers turning the Italeri kit into a R/C model.

Ok all you Lindberg Fans and Builders. Lets see the photos of your Lindberg Kits that were updated. I would love to see all the changes that were made. I still say the hull looks more like a HIGGINS BOAT. Has anyone tried to make her into one.............

Thanks for all the compliments. And Frank, I do have a bunch of photos of the conversion. I posted most of them in my album (boater dave) on photobucket. I will see if there are any more I can put up there. If you are looking for something specific, let me know. I started the conversion because in our boat club there are about six Lindberg 109's. I didn't want to be the seventh. The boat is about 15 years old so I wasn't too worried about ripping it apart. I also have another Lindberg PT, plus the Italeri kit on the bench, and I will make all of them rc. I wanted to represent all three groups (early, mid & late war) and use uncommon subjects (hence the 196 boat). Using the Lindberg hull for a Higgins boat is a great idea. I will have to keep my eyes open for another.
I also just aquired a 1:16 scale Elco 80 monster, but that is another story.

Dave
