Sent away for my uncle's military records (Ron 33) on behalf of his daughter who is his only surviving relative, about March 2010.
Had all the T's crossed & the i's dotted in triplicate. His daughter signed all the paper work & I submitted it for her.
I'm thinking it's way past when she/we should have heard something, but maybe I'm just being impatient in thinking a year & a half is sufficient time to fulfill the request.
:^)
Has anyone else had this experience?
Any advice on next steps, do I re-fill out & resubmit the entire request again?
Thanks
Blake

Blake:

My experience with NARA tells me that it is way, way past the time you should have received a card telling you that they rec'd your request and are working on it; then within about 30 - 60 days you should have your material, or at least a statement requesting payment for the material that they did find. That is how it played out for me, anyway.

I just requested my father's records and got them in about six weeks. I'd suggest giving it another try. I made my request the old fashioned way, on paper, but that shouldn't make any difference. I received a stack of copies about an inch thick, and they didn't charge me anything.

Good luck!

Yeah, I sent the request the "paper" way too
I wasn't thinking & so didn't save copied of the original documents so I'll down load them all, call his daughter & start the process over.
Thanks for the info

Usually 6 - 8 weeks to receive your records. I've had some good results and some bad results. On one oocasion they didn't send all of the records I requested - when I reordered they charged me $50!

Don't give up!
