The following is an account of Joe Cirlot's time in the US Navy. This was sent to me by his son Mitch. Joe is no longer with us, but we are lucky to have his accounts of his service.

Hi Bob, (and Mitch)
I was in the National Archives and photographed some pages from the PT305 deck logs. I also have a couple of photos that show Joe Circlot on the PT305. Here they are. Jerry

Log book entry showing Joes name as plank owner crew
Crew of PT305 on deck of boat. Possibly Joe Circlot in 2nd row, 2nd from left (Photo is from Larry Noble's collection)

Jerry,
Thanks for the log book entry. The first picture is not Joe, not sure who he is. He is in the last picture, in the standing row, dead center, sixth from the right or left. Joe was the 40mm gunner, here are some pics
thats him on the left.

I think that the guy sitting on the spare barrel box is Frank Ferrini.

Pretty cool stuff! Looks like he was in identical places at the same time as my grandfather - same convoy across the Atlantic - same advance bases. I was lucky enough to find a pencil-and-scrap paper version of Pop's travels hidden in his things...it sure made research a lot easier!

I first met Joe Cirlot at the 82 St.L. reunion. 5 fellow were setting around a colume in the hotel with badges that said ron .22. I said I was in ron 22 and what boat were you on. all answered PT 305. I was dum founded. I said I was on the 305 and did not know a one of them. It turned out that they all been replaced before I came aboard in Dec 1944. They let me join there crew for many more reunions as none of the crew I was with came to the reunions Joe Brannan gm1c, AGP1,ron2,3(2).4,22
